Jun'20 report


It seemed that only yesterday they wrote the first report, but four months had left. Well, according to tradition - in short, this is the first time we failed to complete the planned amount of work. Well, it had to happen sooner or later.

What we’ve done:

  1. Wrote 60K characters for the future text of the game
  2. Drew 8 CGs
  3. Working on the translation
  4. Re-evaluated the amount of work

The main directions:

  • Text 93% (Writing 97%, Editing 83%)
  • Visual 82% (CG - 63%, BG - 99%, Sprites - 84%)
  • Code 50% (Text 83%, Logic 45%, Visual 21%)
  • Translation 46% (Initial translation 83%, proofreading 28%, final editing 28%)

This month was a turning point. Although we already knew that it is not always possible to implement plans, we hoped that this moment would come later.

So we found out that we won’t meet the size of the game that we planned. We have planned 1500K characters (in Russian), and the result will be about 1600K.

And this means that we have to write not 45K characters, but 145k! Taking into account the fact that now there is the most difficult text for Turkey - this slows down the work a lot.

The realization that the release chances this year are far from 100% - incredibly upset Turkey.

She knows how much players are waiting for the game, and it was hard for her to accept the idea that we were delaying the release again.

This, as well as life problems, made it very difficult for Turkey to work. And, unfortunately, this month almost all the work depended onTurkey, because the team was not able to raise the percentage of readiness of the game.

But thanks to the support of both the team and the players, Turkey has come to terms with the fact that the release may be delayed until next year.

After all, this is our first project, and it turns out to be much more ambitious than we initially thought. We do not want to lower the quality of the game, so we will spend as much time on it as it takes. ^_^

As a result, we reduce the number of planned percentages of game readiness. For the past 3 months, we have been working hard, which is reflected in this month. Making such a big game (for someone maybe not, but for us it is very big), you can not work at the limit of your strength. This is a marathon, not a sprint. It is better to delay the release for a month or two than our team will burn out, stop enjoying what we are doing and, as a result, quit in the middle ^^

Plans for July

  1. Write 60K characters for the Loner route
  2. To draw 5-9 CGs
  3. Proofread not less than 100K characters of the translation
  4. A little work on the logic of Cass’s route in the code

Total, if everything works out then in we will get the following:

  • The game will be ready at 86% (+2%)
  • Text 94% (+1%), it has 98% Writing (+1%) and editing unchanged (keep in mind that these percentages are quite conditional, since now it is not possible to calculate them very accurately)
  • Visual 84% (+2%) with 68% CG (+5%), sprites and BGs unchanged
  • Code 55% (+5%), visual 22% (+1%), logic 60% (+15%), text without changes
  • Translation 52% (+6%)
