About bilberry

Hello everyone! Section: About the translation.

The example below is from the demo version and is not related to spoilers, so you can read it calmly.

The demo version has the following line:

> Unbearably close to me, I notice how awfully cute Purple-Eyes’ lips are. I can feel his long white hair brush against my cheek, and it smells like <wtf>blueberry </wtf>yogurt.

The problem here is with the word blueberry. The fact is that in the US (namely, we focus on American English when translating) there are no bilberries, there are only blueberries. And originally in Russian we used the word bilberry.

In the English Wikipedia there is a whole section devoted to how these two berries are confused. All our acquainted Americans also confirmed that they had never heard of any bilberry before.

There is a huge difference between the smell of blueberries and bilberries, not to mention the fact that the taste and how they look like are also noticeably different.

We, of course, are very sorry for the Americans that they do not know such a wonderful berry, however, we have to adapt and use blueberries in the English version, because we refer to the smell. And even after reading about bilberry on the Internet, it is impossible to find out its smell.

Anyway, if you ever visit Russia in summer - we suggest you to try bilberries and you will not regret it. Besides you will learn the true smell of Vincent  (*ノ∀`*)
